Ceramic fiber blanket also named refractory blanket,is a type of high temperature insulation material.Service temperature have grade 1050C,1260C,1430C.It is light and soft, has low thermal conductivity and good insulation performance.

Ceramic fiber insulation blanket are produced in roll shape and have flexible size and density.This materials are easy to install during construction or furnace repair.

Overview of Ceramic Fiber Blanket

Ceramic fiber blanket is manufactured by aluminum silicate stone,these raw material crushed and melted into spun fiber wool at temperature above 1800C,then by using special machine pressed and double needled,forming refractory blanket with different size,thickness and density according to customer customized.

Procedure of Manufacturing

  1. Choosing raw material according to the different ceramic fiber grade,the main raw material usually include:calcined coal gangue,chamotte,alumina oxide powder,zirconia powder etc.

  2. Melting by high temperature:the melting process is operated at temperature 1800℃.Melting the ore into high temperature magma and preparing for the production of ceramic fiber.

  3. Spinning or blowning into fiber.After the magna flows out through the orifice,it reaches three rapidly rotating centrifugal shafts,then the magma is spun into longer fiber,this is the production of ceramic fiber spun bulk.If the high temperature magma is blown by high speed spray gun into short fiber,it is called ceramic fiber blown bulk.

  4. The fiber bulk is collected by bulk collector to a certain amount,goes out along the conveyor belt,and it needled on both sides,forming ceramic fiber blanket.Roll the insulation blanket into rolls,then pack into cartons or bags.

Ceramic Fiber Blanket Storage

  • Ceramic fiber blanket is packed with woven bag or carton.It should be protected from water,moisture and sunlight.

  • Although ceramic fiber materials have anti-corrosion properties,it could not be mixed with strong alkali and strong acid in storage area,which will affect the performance.

  • Take safety measures when touching ceramic fibers,such as wearing masks,gloves etc.

  • Heavy goods should avoid to be putted on ceramic fiber blanket.

  • The shelf life of ceramic fiber have no limitation.
